I am completely self-taught. I've been building websites since 1998. My first professional experience began in 1999 when I joined my high school's web page staff. By 2001, I was the web staff manager, and the sole person in charge of updating the high school website.

Originally all of this was just a hobby because I never actually expected to make a living developing websites. However, in 2006, I received my first job offer in web development. I accepted, and from that moment forward I knew that my career's direction was definitely in web development.

There are usually two distinct types of people in this industry. On one side, you have the designers, who usually have no clue what's going on "behind the scenes." On the other side, you have the developers who usually don't care or don't understand how to make their application "pretty." I, on the other hand, am an outlier in this equation.

By no means do I consider myself a full-fledged web designer, but I do maintain the necessary skills to enhance the look of my websites and web applications. However, my heart is definitely in the programming side of websites.

I have a true passion for not only building pretty websites, but maintaining pretty code as well. I am a huge promoter of following web standards and doing things the right way the first time. Nothing bothers me more than horribly written code and non xHTML-compliant code. Another pet-peeve of mine is programmers who do not appropriately comment their code.

My journey in this industry from 1998 until today is far more than can be covered in a couple of paragraphs. You can use the table to the right above as a quick reference for a majority of the languages, programs, architects, and libraries that I have worked with over the years. If you have any additional questions about my skills, please let me know.
